The vendor has moved from the earlier 'completely free, no usage cap' policy to a credit system: the free plan issues 500 credits per month, and inviting friends can raise the cumulative total to as much as 3500 credits. Defaults to the Doubao-1.5-pro model, with the option to switch to DeepSeek-R1 (reasoning) or DeepSeek-V3 (chat). The international version (trae.ai) has switched to a paid subscription (starting at $10/mo), with only occasional short-term free promotions; its accounts and quota are entirely separate from the mainland China version.

⚠️Confirmed on the official pricing page (trae.cn/pricing): the free plan has moved from 'no paywall, no usage cap' to a '500 credits per month' limit (verified 2026-09-18). The international version is no longer a long-term free product — if you need it free, use the mainland China version instead. Don't confuse the two systems.
