Official pricing-page FAQ verbatim: "New users can start with the perpetual Kiro Free tier, which includes 50 credits. The Free Tier includes access to open weight models and Claude Sonnet 4.5, with limits." Footnote verbatim: "Users on the Free Tier who signed up with social logins or AWS Builder ID have access to Claude Sonnet 4.5 and open weight models such as Qwen3 Coder Next, DeepSeek 3.2, and MiniMax M2.1. Access is subject to rate limits." Only the paid tiers (Pro from $20 / month, including 1,000 credits) open up high-end models such as Claude Sonnet 5 and Opus 5; the official page notes that not all high-end models are available in all countries / regions.
The official FAQ says "the perpetual tier includes 50 credits" and the card price says "per month", but it does not state clearly whether the 50 credits refresh monthly or are a one-time grant, so go by the usage page in the app before claiming. The free tier restricts sign-up methods: you must log in with a social account (social login) or AWS Builder ID to get Claude Sonnet 4.5. Reachability from mainland China and regional restrictions were not tested.
