Alibaba Cloud OCR monthly free quota (200 calls per month per API)

After activating the Alibaba Cloud OCR products you get a free call quota: dozens of APIs including General OCR, Full-text High-Accuracy, Handwriting, Table OCR, ID card, business license, VAT invoice and driving license each get 200 calls per month, valid for the current month only

The official "Free quota" help page (marked as updated 2023-11-22) lists by API: general text recognition (e-commerce images, tables, full-text high-accuracy, handwriting, general OCR, health codes, document structuring), personal documents (ID card, passport, household register, bank card, social security card and more), business qualifications (business license, bank account opening permit and more), invoices and vouchers (VAT invoice, train ticket, taxi receipt and more), vehicle and logistics (driving license, driver license, plates, VIN), minor languages, and education scenarios (oral arithmetic grading, formula recognition and more), all at 200 calls/month, counted per individual API, valid for the current month and void when it expires; the OCR unified recognition types share 200 calls/month. Verification services (business license check, invoice check) get 50 calls each, once (1 time) per user for life. OCR document self-learning gives a one-time 500 calls per task type, used up once exhausted. Official wording: only successful calls consume the free quota; beyond it, billing is pay-as-you-go or resource-pack deduction.

⚠️The help page is marked as updated 2023-11-22, so check the free quota shown in the console after activating OCR to confirm it still matches current billing. Alibaba Cloud usually requires real-name verification to activate cloud products, though the page does not state a separate requirement. Quota is counted per API and resets monthly. Beyond the free quota you pay pay-as-you-go, so watch the post-paid switch and your bill in the console. Classic OCR APIs, not LLMs.
