Every Vercel team account comes with the AI Gateway free tier: $5 of credits per month, with access to the "Free Tier eligible" subset of models, and requests are rate limited per model at lower limits than the paid tier

Free tier "Monthly credit: $5 /month included"; the paid tier is buying credits on demand, with access to all models, and the official page says zero token markup (including bring-your-own-key). "The free tier includes a subset of models, not the full catalog." "Free tier requests are also rate limited per model, with lower limits than the paid tier. If you exceed a limit, AI Gateway returns a 429 error." Buying AI Gateway Credits upgrades you to the paid tier, and the rate limits rise accordingly. The official models page offers a freeTier=true filter so you can see which models the free tier can use.
