Claim the free resource pack in the Tencent Cloud text-to-speech console: 8 million characters of standard / premium voices, 100 thousand characters of large-model voices, and 20 thousand characters of ultra-natural large-model voices, valid for three months after claiming, and supporting only the general speech synthesis API
Official "Speech Synthesis Billing Overview (Online Edition)" (last updated 2026-08-10) verbatim: at present only general speech synthesis supports a free allowance. Whether you choose prepaid or postpaid billing, you can enjoy a free call allowance, issued as a free resource pack that you must claim in the speech synthesis console; once claimed it is deducted first at billing settlement. When the free allowance runs out, the product stops service, and you need to buy a prepaid resource pack or enable the postpaid feature in the console to keep using it. Free allowances: 1. Ultra-natural large-model voice free resources, for ultra-natural large-model voices, free allowance 20 thousand characters; 2. Large-model voice free resources, free allowance 100 thousand characters; 3. Standard / premium voice free resources, free allowance 8 million characters. All of the above support only the general speech synthesis API, and do not yet support the long-text speech synthesis API or the large-model podcast API. The free resource pack is valid for three months from the moment it is claimed.
The free resource pack must be claimed manually in the console and does not arrive automatically on activation; the official text says the product stops service once the free allowance is used up, and you have to buy a resource pack or enable postpaid to continue, so there is no silent charging. How many times each account can claim is as shown in the console (secondhand sources say one claim per account, which is not confirmed in the original text on the official page). General speech synthesis includes basic speech synthesis, real-time speech synthesis, and streaming text-to-speech. Activating cloud products in the Tencent Cloud console usually requires real-name verification.
