The Starter free plan gives a one-time $5 credit with no credit card required, including 3 workspace users, 3 stores and 100 requests per minute

The official pricing page says: "Try Mixedbread with $5 in one-time credits. No card required." All plans bill at the same usage rates; they differ only in credits, limits and support. Once the credit is used up you must upgrade to Scale ($20 per month, including $20 of credits) to keep going.
