Kilo Code Free Models (Auto Free routing, no top-up needed)
Kilo Code
The official docs say Kilo Code can be used completely free: pick Auto Free (kilo-auto/free) to route automatically to the free models currently available, with no top-up needed; Gateway free models are equally available to anonymous users, who are limited to 200 requests per hour per IP
Official docs verbatim: "Kilo Code can be used completely free of charge." Auto Free "automatically routes your requests to the best available free models — no configuration needed"; typing free in the model selector filters the individual free models tagged (free), supported by the IDE plugin, the CLI, and cloud tasks (including Code Reviewer). Gateway docs verbatim: "Free models are available to both authenticated and anonymous users. Anonymous users are rate-limited to 200 requests per hour per IP address." Free autocomplete requires bringing your own free Mistral Codestral key (BYOK). The official pricing page also states that the individual-edition platform fee is $0, with usage billed separately.
A mechanism-type entry: the free models rotate with Kilo's partnerships with inference vendors, so specific models cannot be guaranteed; upstream vendors apply rate limits, and when you hit one you need to switch to another free model. The official docs warn that Auto Free may route to free endpoints that log prompts and outputs (including NVIDIA free endpoints, which are trial-only and log session data to improve the product), so do not submit personal or confidential data. The top of the official pricing page says Kilo has been acquired by Anaconda. Reachability from mainland China was not tested.
