Brave Search API automatically grants $5 in free credits every month. Web search is priced at $5 per 1000 requests, so that is roughly 1000 searches a month; LLM-context results and the Answers API draw on the same credit

The official homepage says "with $5 in free monthly credits", and in the pricing section both the Search and Answers plans state "Includes free $5 in credits every month", applied to the account automatically. Search costs $5 per 1000 requests with a capacity of 50 requests per second; Answers costs $4 per 1000 queries plus $5 per 1M input tokens and $5 per 1M output tokens. The official FAQ says a credit card is required even for the free plan, and that it is only used to confirm identity and will not be charged.
